Sheikh Safiyaddin Ardebili Tomb
The remnants of Sheikh Sayfaddin Ardebili are one of the most important historical works of the city of Ardebil and of the historical monuments of Iran, which are architectural and tile works of the eighth century AH and subsequent years. After the Shaykh’s death in 735 AH, this building was founded by his son, Sadr al-Din Musa, and Shah Abbas added significant buildings to this collection and there are some modifications. The significance of this historical monument generally appears in the user interface of the Safavid dynasty. The predecessors of the Safavid kings and also Shah Isma’il I, the founders of this dynasty, were buried in this historical complex. It was built on the hill of Ishmael and on top of this dome there were installed five sword that was the weapon of families that helped the king of Ismail to reign. In this tomb, there is still another great prince and other princes and elders of the Safavid dynasty and the empires of that period, such as the remains of Ismail’s mother.
